Crazy Projects!!!

What's been going on peeps?!

I've been a little bit extra busy lately with all the deadlines and such. But I'll try to be more active here on the blog!
As I told you before, Kodie and I are working on a new hot track together. It's a follow up to our previous single Now Is The Time.
I wanted this new one to be even MORE hotter than the other one. I realized I have to tap into a different type of genre than what I'm use to in order to rock the clubs! I having a lot of fun with this one! I can't wait for you guys to hear it once it's done!

I've heard some crazy and weird songs, but NONE like the one I recently started working on. I gotta say, It's also one of the toughest I've had to work with.

I want you to warm up by listening to our (Kodie and I) previous single in order to get ready for what's about to come;

Now, the art of beat-boxing is very difficult and not everyone can enjoy it. Also, the hype of beat-boxing is not the same anymore. Which is a shame actually, because there are a lot of beat-boxers out there. I've seen a lot of different type of beat-boxers. Many of them very skilled and they have an awesome concept. But I haven't seen anyone beat-box in this sort of content;

Martha Stewart could learn a thing or two!

Special Edition!

Hey folks!

Usually I don't post blogs on Saturdays. But this is a Special Edition!
I thought I might share with you the priceless outcome of the proper way to brand yourself. Why I'm doing this is because I believe that everyone with a product or service can brand themselves these days using the powerful tool that is Internet!

Here is an old video (a rare one) by Steve Jobs talking about branding. It also explains why Apple is what they are today. They've done it very well in the past few years. Check it out;

I use both PC and Mac for work and for entertainment. I believe both can be good for certain tasks. But what differentiates Apple for the rest of the PC market is in the details! Check this article right here!

Aside from that, they've also been great att setting a trend and everyone else has always been following. Consider this!

Now you can unmistakably identify an Apple product, and THAT is Great Branding right there!

Another great example is this guy, Gary Vaynerchuck.
He is an amazing social media entrepreneur and what not, and is an expert in branding and marketing yourself online.
He has a book called Crush It! that is simply inspiring and brilliant and anyone who wants to make money out of a passion should read this book. I have this book and I strongly recommend it!

That's it for today, tune in next week! Thanks for dropping by!

The World's Biggest Drum Machine!

What's cracking folks?!

I've posted a video of a project some people in Sweden did in an earlier post. The staircase piano project!
This is something similar to that. Also taking place in Stockholm, Sweden. A group of people wanted to build the worlds largest drum machine! I like the idea. You get to have fun and socialize with people. Music and entertainment is coming closer for everyone to enjoy! Check this out;

Guys, I found this clip and I don't know what to think of it. You might be able to help me. I have no idea what this is suppose to be. Maybe it's fake, maybe it isn't. But who cares?! It's so strange that it's funny! See for yourself;

Facebook Auto-tune

What's hippity happening folks?!

You know those moments when you are genuinely happy with yourself? You are almost impressed by yourself yet you knew all along you could do it? Well, I'm having one of those moments now! I'm not an arrogant man but I want to be the best in what I do. All the hard work and the long journey to my destination for me to experience such moments are all worth it!
I'm almost done mixing the new single!

Alright, moving along;

Facebook has officially made it! You all know by this time that Facebook is huge! It's enormous! It's the number 1 social network website. We've all read a lot about it and we all use it. It has 500 Million users or more and there is a major hollywood movie they are going to do about it. But this following video really takes it to next level. You ain't that big until there is a music video about you!

This is a turkish music video I found about Internet and Facebook. Hilarious! Talk about a unique song topic!

So, I think you all know about Auto-tune, I've posted a video of the "Bed Intruder" before and explained a little bit. But let me explain again just so that it's clear; Auto-tune is a pitch correction plug-in that's often used in recording studios to correct pitch. You can either use it unobtrusive or go nuts like T-Pain, B.E.P etc.!
Here, however, It seems like there is a pitch correction tool, such as the auto-tune, on this girls' audition performance!
I don't know what you would call it, but for me, it's cheating when you're on an audition for a huge tv-show and you're using a pitch correction tool! I don't know if this was intentional or not. Check out this video and you'll understand;

And here's an article about it Click here to go to the article!

Greatest Music Of Our Time!

What's popping peeps?!

Another day in paradise! I've been working in the lab as usual and I'm almost done with this single I'm releasing soon. I've also been rigging up for the live broadcast that I'll be having soon as I told about before. Coming soon!

Folks, I really love music from the past. And to be little bit more specific, I mean the funk, soul, jazz from the 50s-60s-70s and 80s music. Growing up on 90s hip hop where great rap artists and producers sampled a lot of that kind of music makes it more enjoyable. But that kind of music is something totally different than what we have now. I'm not saying that I don't like where music is now, I Love it! It's an art in progress and development and I love working with different styles of music. It makes me learn more about the art and also to create a unique sound. Nevertheless, That kind of music is really something else which I value a lot.

I found this cool website where you can find some of the most influential and groundbreaking music. Click here to go there!

Day And Night!

What's upside everyone?!

I had a Long day today! As in, a Very Long Day! I'm totally beat right now and the clock is currently 05:00am.
So, I was in the studio most of the day. I had to redo a beat from the beginning and I made a mistake! Fortunately, That mistake led to something wonderful! The beat sounds a lot better now for some reason! I was so excited that I couldn't stop, I kept on going til recently when I felt dizzy. I've been having a sore throat for a while now so I decided to take it a little bit easy today. Going strong again tomorrow though!

Tune in again tomorrow!

Justin Bieber Slowed Down 800%

What's happening folks!

I've recently joined UStream.tv and I will be going Live on some occasions so you can see me in action or just hang out and talk directly and ask me anything. Click Here to go to my show! Bookmark it in your browser and I will post in advance when I'm going Live!

You all know about Justin Bieber right? I have nothing against him or his music, actually, I've been keeping my eyes on him ever since he started out on youtube (Before he became this worldwide phenomenon).
Here is a song called U Smile by him, and it's been slowed down 800%. Obviously it's hard to hear that it's the same song but it sounds... Awesome! Very "Enya" like and relaxing but at the same time very spooky.
Now, you can basically do this with every song yourself if you have the software and/or equipment.

Here is how it sounds;

J. BIEBZ - U SMILE 800% SLOWER by Shamantis

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head so badly that it got to a point where you couldn't stand yourself, and nor could anyone else around you? Here is a website called Unhearit.com where they're "Using the latest techniques in reverse-auditory-melodic-unstickification technology." They've "been able to allow our users to "unhear" songs by hearing equally catchy songs." So all they're doing is "making you forget your old song by replacing it with another one... sorry." There you go folks, I've posted a sample from their website. Enjoy if you have a song stuck in your head;

This following is a very interesting speech worth watching/listening to! Michael Specter talks about the danger of science denial which is becoming more and more common.

"Vaccine-autism claims, "Frankenfood" bans, the herbal cure craze: All point to the public's growing fear (and, often, outright denial) of science and reason, says Michael Specter. He warns the trend spells disaster for human progress."

Bed Intruder!

What's happening fellow mankind!

You all know the phenomenon of Auto tune right? Cher used it, T-pain uses it amongst a lot of others, I've used it on multiple occasions, but I've haven't seen/heard anyone use it like this. This is a news feature that was remixed. Aside from the fact that this horrible event took place which is not a laughing matter, but the song itself is actually pretty cool and creative! I've seen victims on the news before but none like these people! Big up!

I love how this guy, the brother to the victim, is telling the story and announcing on the news what they'll do and giving advice;

If we auto tuned more news I think more would want to listen/watch then!

What makes this even more amazing is the fact that this song is currently nr. 35 on iTune's top music downloads! It once peaked at nr. 26!
This song has also hit the Billboard Top 100 at nr. 89.

If you would think that it would stop there, then you would be wrong!
Here's a full marching band playing the "Bed Intruder Song". It sounds pretty good. Especially when everyone is so dedicated;

This song/remix was done by The Gregory Brothers.

Bloopers!

What's happening males and females?!

You know what I like to watch from time to time? Bloopers! Because it is so genuine. Well, most of the times anyway. Sometimes the clips can be fake and gay, I'm sorry, I meant Forged and Homosexual.. Trying to be PC here..
Anyway, I like it because it's so natural and real, no scripts or anything (like I said, most of the time). I especially like the ones with the news! Why? Because they are often live and once you've done something you can't really go back and undo it, and you know what happens after that? You'd probably end up on youtube/failblog which then would end up here and on many other blogs where more people would see it! *Making funny faces and laughing*

Note the weather man's face when he realizes that the camera went on him just 1 second too soon and then he tries to make it look like some other gesture. Priceless! Pause at 10 or 11 seconds!
There are tons of these out there, I just found this one recently.

This is a clip from the BET Awards 2010. It's Kanye West Performing with the song Power! It's actually a nice song, especially live. Now, I use to vibe to Kanye's music before but I stopped doing so when he started to behave like a spoiled mad man. PR-trick or not, I just felt that it was enough. But now, with this new song and no awkward appearances on the award show, I have to say he got my attention again! Check it out;

Imagine you're walking around in the park or you're on your way home from somewhere and then you want to sit down and take a breather while enjoying the nice weather. But what now? You can't? Because you don't have any coins on you?? What is this madness?!
I'm not kidding, and neither are they. Check this out;

Citizen FTW

What's up peeps?!

I had an awesome day today! Got a lot of things done and everything feels good right now. I hope I can keep this buzz for a long period of time! As you might know by this time, since I've been spamming you with all this info, I'm currently working on a couple of projects with Airamis, Kodie and another artist that'll be a surprise for later.
I have a lot to share with you but I don't know where to start..
Ok, I usually start my day by reading some news I find interesting. In this case, I read a lot on NY Times, Tech meme, Tech Crunch etc etc. If you're interested in business and tech stuff you should definitely read those online news!

I don't know if you guys know this, but over here in Sweden, we use a service called Spotify to stream music. It's legal and there is a free option where you can listen to all the music for free but there are some ads in between the songs. You can create playlists, share them with everyone and you can also connect via Facebook and easily share your content there.
If you like, you can pay a monthly fee so that you won't get any ads and also you would get a better listening quality. What make this an awesome service is that, there is no delay or streaming time. It's like you already have the song on your computer.
Anyway, the Spotify team are trying to launch Spotify for the US but there have been some difficulties doing so due to the 4 major record labels. (I talked about why those record labels should change their way of distributing a long time ago.. )

Here is an article regarding what Apple want's to do, it includes a great opportunity for Spotify!

I've been following and studying Google for a while and wondering why they haven't yet come out with a TV. Like a TV service or something. Well, in this article you can read why and what they have planned!

Have you ever had the feeling that someone was constantly watching you? Didn't that creep you out after a while? No? Just me?
To a degree, I like to have some sort of privacy, where everything I do or everywhere I go would not be monitored by big brother or saved as data somewhere. It would be some stuff easier, but come on! Have we gotten that lazy?
Do you remember the film "Minority Report" ? This is something like that and maybe worse. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you, Iris Scanners! Read more about it here!

Alright, what I'm about to show you contains some violence and might be to graphic for some viewers, I advice those to stop not look at this following clip and thank you for dropping by!
But if you don't fall into that category, keep reading and watching;

You might been told not to play a hero because you might get hurt, or you might been told to help as much as you can if the situation requiers it! This guy nonetheless, was told to Kick Ass!! Seriously, kudos for this citizen whom helps when he can. I feel like I should say this; Don't Try This At Home;

This guy had some moves. I love how this guy just waiting for him to get up and then just keeps walking!

Madness!

What's up forum?!

If you didn't know, cars and rallying is one of my hobbies. It's a bad combo for a guy my age. Statistics shows that guys in the age of 20-30 runs a much higher risk for accidents. Having said that; I've recently booked a time at an Auto Repair shop.
It seems like my left rear suspension got broken, shattered is a better word. Hey, don't look at me like that, I don't WHAT happened!
The funny part is that I wasn't even rallying at the time. I was driving in the second gear driving very slowly enjoying the nice weather and then BAM! I heard a loud noise coming from the back of the car and next thing I knew the car was tilting to the left!
It turned out that I drove over a zone where the road workers were working and they had no signs out up that said "Road Construction" or anything like that. Good thing I was only in the second gear and driving slowly.

Anyway, an artist I worked with before, Kodie, got back from his tour in China. Time to get in the studio and get that new single out soon! Let's Go!

Amazing Drummer!

What's happening people!

Today I had a nice long studio session and I finished a track I was suppose to send to a songwriter.
I was in the studio for hours while the sun was shining so bright outside. I was literally sweating my ass off in there.
But I kept on going til' I got done.
Speaking of, I'm going to buy new camera equipment so that I can record and post studio sessions so that you guys can see my sweat, tears and blood!

Speaking of blood, this guy right here is an unbelievably talent drummer. You might know of him, and if you don't.. Shame on you! This guy has been on so many productions, Jay Z., P. Diddy, T.I. to name a few prestigious artists.
I haven't seen/heard anyone play the drums like that. What makes this even more fascinating is the huge drumset. He has total control as if he is not playing the drums, but he IS the drumset! He can play the most complicated drum solos and rhythms (jazz) out there. It looks so natural and sounds amazing. The rhythm is insane and the speed in which he plays is mind blowing not to mention the duration. Much respect for this fella right here! Very inspiring.

Here one where he's in a studio recording;

Here's another studio session;

Here is one with the band ASAP, very awesome stuff;

Listen and watch closely from 4:40!

This one is my favorite clip of TR JR. He is only 12 years old here and he played an amazing drum solo which he dedicated in memory of the late great Tony Williams. First time I watched this years ago, I was flabbergasted! Enjoy;

Friday the 13th!

What's happening folks!

Happy Friday the 13th! Why happy? Well, I'm usually lucky on this particular day.
When I was younger I used to love that movie. It was so cool but now when I watch it I find it ridiculous.
Google had a pretty bad Friday the 13th though. I'm sure you are all aware of what's been going on with that company. They got sued by Oracle over some patents and then Google did some trash-talking about that and the bad news is still coming at Google.

Anyway, today has been a great day! I've been in the studio all day working on new material. Besides that, I've been playing around on the new DJ equipment I got. I kinda looked like this guy while I was "DJing";

(This guy is rockin' it)

Never seen anyone having this much fun.

People have asked me what I do after a studio session when I want to unwind and relax. Well, after a long and fun day in the studio, I like to unwind and relax by playing the piano. A little bit classic piano but mostly I improvise. And after doing that I want to rest my ears so I shut down everything and just enjoy the silence. And after that I start on writing this blog. So there you go! Now you know me a little better.

On another topic, I found this article about a 16 year old kid who made a business and earned his first million when he was 16. Very inspiring given that not many 16 year olds nowadays would think of this. Read more about this here.

Randomness

What's up guys?!

You know what's really annoying? When people who can't drive somehow managed to get their drivers licence!
Earlier today I was out driving around and I stopped by the supermarket to pick something up and the head back home. On my way to the parking lot I see a car trying to back the car out of the parking space. It was the worst driving in a parking lot I've ever seen! I'm not kidding, as I was watching the horrific driving happening right in front of me, I was thinking to myself; how on earth was this guy able to get his drivers licence. I was flabbergasted! I didn't have the time to record all this as I was shocked and I wanted to show you what I've witnessed so I found this clip. Ok to be honest, it wasn't really as bad as in this clip, but it's close enough;

A while ago, I came across an article about Pythagoras, an ancient greek philosopher and mathematician. He believed that the universe was fundamentally mathematical by nature, and that the planets and stars danced along to "a harmony of the spheres." Basically, since musical notes can be translated mathematically, Pythagoras thought the workings of nature marched to the beat of a grand cosmic mathematical symphony. They've also found hidden musical codes written into Plato's text. Also an ancient greek philosopher who was influenced by Pythagoras. Read the full article here.

"Since the one thing we can say about fundamental matter is, that it is vibrating, and since all vibrations are theoretically sound, then it is not unreasonable to suggest that the universe is music and should be perceived as such." Bill Hicks

The Fun-Theory

What's up guys?!

Yesterday I posted that I went to the movies. I just want to recap something and share a vision;

As I sat there in my chair waiting for the film to start with my coca cola bottle in one hand and a bag of popcorn in the other, I came to think of something. Since you're rarely alone in the cinema, especially when you are watching a blockbuster movie, wouldn't it be great to socialize with people there? I'm not saying you should just start a conversation with the fellow next to you (surely you could, but that's not always appreciated). So why not do something all together before the movie starts? Something fun that everyone can enjoy and also capable of doing. Regardless of age.
Of course those who don't want to don't have to participate in the activity. What I had in mind.. Actually I don't really remember what I had in mind. But now that I'm thinking about it, it should be a game or something. We surely have the technology for it now so why not use it to have some fun with our fellow human beings and at the same time bring more people to the cinemas in terms of families, gather a bunch of friends and etc. I always thought it was a bit awkward to just sit down with a lot of people watching the same film, sharing the same experience (usually) but never to actually socialize with them. People gather but they don't really socialize.
To my surprise, I wasn't the only one thinking about this.. Obviously.. I recently found this clip where they've applied exactly what I was trying to describe. This concept is not applied everywhere in the world, but it should be something to think about. I find this very amusing. I rather do this instead of only watching tons of ads while waiting for the movie to start and I would probably go to the movies more often;

Speaking of innovation, this concept is certainly not a new one but nevertheless it's a very fun one. Mixing the everyday life with these kind of entertainment can make your day.
This is a clip from Stockholm, Sweden (where I'm writing this blog from). It's a campaign for using the stairs. They feel it's better to use the stairs instead of the escalator. It's a good thing for the young and the lazy, such as myself. So they came up with this idea, check it out;

This was shot at a subway station. Unfortunately, the text in the clip is in Swedish, but they explained that 66% more used the stairs and that happiness can obviously change the behavior, even if it's something small in the ordinary everyday life. They call it the Fun-theory.

Ima leave you with one of many of my favorite quotes;
"Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without" ~Confucius

Inception!

What's up guys?!

I went to the cinema today and watched what I believed was the best movie of 2010. Hell, maybe the best movie of the decade!
Inception was amazing. What made this film so amazing was the director and writer Christopher Nolan! This guy is brilliant, he's on a level of his own.
For those who doesn't know, he's the guy who directed the two most recent Batman movies which also was great. And everyone who've seen Memento knows what I'm talking about. The actors in this film were very good! Excellent I must say. I'm very impressed with Leonardo DiCaprio. He's been amazing in all the films he's been in so far. Especially the most recent ones.
If you haven't already, watch this movie! If your're like me who likes the more complex and philosophic type of movies with extreme depth that'll capture your focus and make you think a bit extra, then this is the right film for you!

Ok, let's get this show going! This right Here is a cool website where you can navigate yourself using a world map to find listen to music.

I think everyone pretty much have heard of Lady Gaga. This right here is a very unique design of a piano made by Tnokovski. He came up with the idea as he was watching one of her shows and realized that the ordinary shapes pianos didn't match her performing style.
I must say, it's pretty cool.

Dawn of a New Day!

What's happening folks?!

I've been working on a crazy beat for an artist I'm working with, Kodie! We recently released a summer track that became a huge success and people wanted a follow up to that song. Needless to say, I quickly started on a new crazy and positive track for his upcoming single. Meanwhile, let me remind you of the first single we released;

In a recent blog post I talked about how powerful Music (the most powerful sound of all) can be. More doctors are agreeing upon the effects music can have on patients. Scientists are agreeing upon the effects music has to everyone. There is more to this than we realize and I hope more people would acknowledge this.
As a pianist I find this clip very interesting. I've been trying to teach my students this too.
I found a very fascinating clip on TED where this brilliant guy, Benjamin Zander explains a little bit of what I mean. This is a 20 minute clip and every second is important;

Patiently waiting!

What's up everybody!

I recently posted on my FB and MS status an article about Dr.Dre.
I'm a big fan of Dr. Dre and I have been for the first time I heard The Chronic. I've heard everything with him ever since. I was just a kid back then but I was fascinated by his beats. The 2001 album is still one of my favorite albums of all time! It was as perfect as it could be!
I remember sitting down in front of my stereo pumping his cd's and just analyzing everything in his beats. That's one of my strongest memories of what triggered my interest in wanting to make beats and producing music. Even when he did tracks with other artists such as Eminem, Mary J and a lot more, I was mainly interested in his beats and the general production. I wanted to be in his head and understand why he did what he did on those beats.

Anyway, He announced a while back that he was going to release the Detox album and I've been waiting since. Now is this article he is talking about a couple of new projects which he will also release soon. I'm mostly interested in one of them. It's called The Planets and it's an instrumental album and there's been a buzz about it here and there.
He's been studying all the planets in our solar system and what makes the unique and etc. A true scientist!

Read more about it here!

Speaking of science, I Love science! I've been studying it for a long time and I particularly find the science of sound and music very interesting. Sound in general affects us more than we realize. Even in our daily basis we are victims to many different type of sounds that affects us both negatively and positively. The most powerful sound of all is Music. You don't have to be able to play any instruments or even be interested in that subject (in terms of study) to be affected by your favorite type of music. Whether it be a classical piece or hard rock. Music has a tremendous power of affecting us and it should be acknowledged by everyone. In this following clip you'll see Bobby McFerrin making a point. This guy is brilliant and he's a great Jazz singer;

(I might have posted this before but it's definitely worth watching again!)

Hey folks!

I locked myself in the studio today to mix a track with a hot new artist. Literally! It's going to be great! But more of that later.
For those who still haven't, add my on Facebook and Myspace.

Now, a great friend of mine who is also a great artist, Kodie, has a nice blog you can check out. We recently released Now Is The Time! Click Here to go to his blog!

Let me refresh your memory;

Another friend of mine sent me a clip of one of the weirdest music videos I've ever seen. I mean, Why?! I want to understand why the director made the video like this. You'll understand what I mean once you see this video;

I love homemade instruments and this is one of the coolest and "easiest" I've seen! This is definitely something I'll do when I'm done posting this blog! It'll be perfect for recording brass instruments;

What's happening readers?!

It's another Sunday and as we all know or might not know, I don't like Sundays. It's the most boring day of the week because everybody I know don't want to do anything and there is not much one can do around here on a Sunday.
